Privacy policy
The short version
We do not ask you to create an account, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell data about you. The only information you give us directly is what you type into the contact form, if you use it.
What we collect directly
Contact form. If you write to us, we receive the name, email address, phone number and message you submit. We use them only to reply. They are sent to us by email and are not added to a marketing list.
Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request information such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
Third parties
Advertising. We display advertising which may be served by Google and its partners. Advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. You can review and adjust Google's advertising settings at adssettings.google.com.
Affiliate links. Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you follow one, the retailer may set a cookie to attribute a purchase. We receive aggregate commission reporting from them — never your identity or your order contents. See our affiliate disclosure.
Embedded content. Pages link out to sources including YouTube and manufacturer sites. Following those links takes you to services with their own privacy policies, which govern what they collect.
What we do not do
- No accounts, logins or passwords
- No selling or renting of personal information
- No email marketing lists
- No first-party tracking beyond what is needed to serve the site
Public comments we analyse
Our verdicts are counted from comments already published publicly on platforms such as YouTube. We quote short excerpts and link to the source so the context is visible. We do not collect commenters' personal details, contact them, or attempt to identify them. If you posted a comment quoted here and want it removed, write to us and we will remove it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can block cookies in your browser; the site works without them. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, write to contact@thestacksmiths.com and we will respond within 30 days.

We will update this page when our practices change, and revise the date above. Material changes will be noted at the top.
